Southampton is one of our favourite places to invest. We’ve been investing here for many years now and have an excellent team based in the city. Here are some of the reasons why we love investing here so much.

Property prices in Southampton have been and continue to steadily increase, however it’s still on of the cheapest places to invest in the South. Over the last year, the overall average house price was £309,497. According to Rightmove, sold prices in Southampton over the last year were 8% up on the previous year and 13% up on the 2020 peak of £274,307. As we’ve said before, property is a long game so investing in an area where you know prices are going to increase is key to a watertight portfolio.


Demand


The demand for property in Southampton is endless. There really is something for every strategy. We invest in serviced accommodation for tourists and professionals, HMOs for students at the two world leading universities, and our speciality professional HMOs. It also has the second largest container port in the UK supporting around 15,000 jobs!

Room rates in Southampton can offer a very good return on investment (ROI). Our professional HMOs are done to an incredibly high standard, meaning that we always attain the healthiest room rates and occupancy. With rates at around £700 per room in a professional HMO, and demand continuing to rise, those kind of returns keep our investors coming back for more!


The City


In city terms, Southampton is a relatively small city. This makes it's so easy to get around and means you're never far away from its excellent amenities such a Westquay Shopping Centre, thriving nightlife, green open spaces or coastal trails. It really does have everything!
